Rollup Window Sun Shades Inside or Out
|
|
|
Unlike window blinds, roll-up or roll-down window shades don't block your view. Roll-up window screens only filter out the sun heat and glare whether you install them inside or outside of the window. Select a rollup window shade as an alternative to exterior window sun screens for the convenience of being able to roll down or roll up the window sun shade out of your way quickly.
Pull-down window shade screens on windows facing the sun will help reduce your
cooling costs, reduce the load on your air conditioning, reduce glare, and will help stop furniture and carpet sun fading.

Interior Sun Screens
Controlling the sun's heat and glare on the interior with roll-up window sun shade screens is the most
practical choice for many types of windows, such as storefronts or office windows.
While these roll-down window sun screens are slightly less effective than
exterior roll-down sun screen shading, interior sun shades will control the sun and light while,
at the same time, enhance interior decorating. Phifer's interior sun shading fabrics offer exciting
new alternatives to ordinary window fabrics. Phifer interior roll-down sun shading fabrics are durable,
meet or exceed requirements for flame retardancy and are virtually maintenance free. |

Exterior Sun Shades

Exterior window shading treatments are effective cooling measures because they block both
direct and indirect sunlight before it enters windows. Roll-down solar shade screens are an excellent
exterior shading product with a thick weave that blocks up to 90 percent of all incoming
sunlight before it enters the windows. The screens absorb sunlight when they are used on
the outside of the windows. From the outside, they look slightly darker than regular
screening, and provide greater privacy. From the inside many people do not detect a difference.
Most products also serve as insect screening and come in several colors.
They can be rolled up in winter months where full sunlight is desired for the colder days. |
Interior Solar Shades
Interior shades or even shutters are generally less effective shading measures because
they try to block sunlight that has already entered the room. The most effective interior treatments are
blinds; solid roll-down window shades with a reflective surface facing the outside.
Did you know that simple white roll-down window blinds keep the building cooler than more
expensive louvers, like vertical blinds or shutters? Shutters and louvered blinds do not provide a solid surface, and allow trapped heat to
migrate between the blinds into the building.
Roll-down window blinds are not attractive, and prevent people inside from seeing anything outside.
The better alternative to Roll-down window blinds is roll-down window sun screens. |
